Chinese New Year in Early Years

We have been celebrating Chinese New Year in Early Years this half term.  We have found out that as a class we are either a Dragons or a Rabbit. We have made Chinese lanterns and tasted different foods including rice, noodles and prawn crackers .

Feel The Force Science Show

On Thursday morningg, KS2 were lucky enough to have a visit from The National Science Museum. We were able to part in an exciting show named "Feel the force". The lady from the National Science Museum, Heather, talked to us about different forces and even showed us them in action. As part of this, we were able to see rockets being launched, how friction works and even how to make an object travel further.

"I really enjoyed it when she had to pump the rocket. I honestly thought it wasn't going to work and then it hit the roof!" Ella, Y4

"My favourite part was when she showed us how to pull the cloth off the table without the knocking the teapot off. It was very clever." Bailey, Y4

SID in Year 4

Today as part of Safer Internet Day, we spent our time looking at how we use the internet.

We watched a video all about the bigger picture. It taught how pictures aren't always what they seem and once they are shared they are on the internet forever.
Click here to watch the video.

Have a go at the quiz. Click here and see how much you know about being safe on the internet.

Year 4 Roman Day

Year 4 had a brilliant time at our Roman Day today. Everyone really looked the part, dressed in togas and soldier outfits. We started the day by tasting some Roman food and then had sweet honey toast, which was delicious! We then got our hands dirty by examining some Roman poo! We found lots of evidence about what the Romans used to eat.

After play time, we turned detective and using our fabulous maths skills, we were able to solve the mystery of who murdered Julius Caesar. In the afternoon we made mosaics and Roman head bands. Here are a few pictures from today.

Year 3 - Ms Broxup

In year 3 we have been learning about how to write instructions. As part of our topic we made our own woolly mammoths by following written instructions. We are very proud of our amazing outcome therefore we would like to share it with you.
